Even though soccer is played on streets worldwide, in Holland it has spawned an entire subculture with its own rules and codes. Although it's not the same on every playground, the game follows the rules of the street. Individual skills, honor and pride are some of the most important factors and humiliating the opponent is key.
For a Nike exhibition celebrating the Air Max 90, 7 different artists were invited to honor the 7 youth cultures that were chosen. This piece was made in the true spirit of Panna Soccer and incorporates many of the rules associated with it. The game is either played one-on-one or two against two and the little players are made to look like individuals. Because their legs are apart it's possible to do little tricks as well as play the opponent between the legs.
Version 2 is currently in development.
